About Coursity

Where great teaching meets the students who need it

Coursity connects students with teachers qualified in their exact curriculum, and gives them everything a good lesson needs: a live classroom, credentials verified before a profile goes live, prices published before a booking, and a clear record of every lesson both sides can see. Built in Lebanon, designed to travel.

Why we built it

The right teacher is closer than it feels

Lebanon has remarkable teachers — people who know the Lebanese programme, the French and American systems or the IB in real depth, and who can change what a whole year looks like for a student. Coursity exists to make finding them simple, and to give the lesson itself somewhere excellent to happen.

So we built what good teaching deserves: a catalogue that understands what a curriculum actually is, qualifications reviewed by a person before a profile goes live, rates published up front, and a classroom designed for teaching rather than for meetings. Every decision answers the same question — does this help a student learn, and a teacher teach well?

  • 5Curricula supported in full, from the Lebanese programme to the IB
  • 3Languages, with Arabic built right-to-left rather than translated
  • 0Unverified teachers — a person approves every profile before it goes live
  • 1Free trial lesson with every teacher, so a match can be tried before it is paid for
How we work

Four commitments, built into the product

  • Verified before public

Identity and qualifications are reviewed by a person before a teacher can be found or booked, and approval is granted for specific curriculum, grade and subject combinations — so expertise on Coursity is always precise rather than general.

  • Matched to the curriculum

The Lebanese programme, the French and American systems, the IB and UNRWA-supported learning each ask for something different. Search matches on what a teacher is approved to teach, which is what makes a shortlist genuinely relevant.

  • Clear from the start

Every rate is published before a booking, every package states exactly what it includes, and cancellation terms are shown before the click rather than after it. Families can plan with confidence.

  • Only what we can show

A teacher who is new to Coursity is shown as new, never as a rating of zero. A number appears when there is something real behind it. It is a quiet commitment, and one we hold to carefully.

Two sides, one standard

Built for both sides of the lesson

For students and families

A shortlist you can trust, a first lesson that costs nothing, and everything that follows in one place.

  • Filter by curriculum, grade, subject and the hours that fit around school
  • See the rate, the format and the cancellation terms before committing to anything
  • Learn in a classroom with video, a shared whiteboard, materials and lesson notes that stay
  • Turn your own material into summaries, flashcards and practice questions in the Study Hub

For teachers

A verified profile, a calendar that stays yours, and earnings recorded lesson by lesson.

  • Set your own rates, formats and availability, and change them whenever you need to
  • Be found by the students you are qualified to teach, with your expertise stated precisely
  • Teach in a classroom built for lessons — whiteboard, screen share, materials, quick questions
  • Follow a balance calculated per lesson, with the commission that applied at the time

Where the name comes from

Course, and city. A course is what a student needs; the city is everyone within reach who could teach it. The premise of the whole product is that the second is far closer than it feels — the right teacher for Grade 11 physics is usually a few kilometres away.

Coursity is the directory that connects the two, and then rather more than a directory: the lesson happens here as well, along with everything around it.

Three languages, none of them an afterthought

Coursity works in Arabic, English and French. Arabic is not a translation layer added at the end — the interface is genuinely right-to-left, the Arabic typefaces were chosen to sit alongside the Latin ones rather than substituted for them, and dates, numbers and currency are formatted for each locale.

Students here move between languages inside a single sentence, and a product built for them should feel natural in all three. That same discipline is what makes Coursity ready to open in the next market.

Where Coursity is today

Discovery, verification, booking and scheduling, the live classroom, lesson records and the AI Study Hub are all built and running. We add capability the way we add teachers — when it is ready, and when it meets the standard the rest of the product sets. Ratings appear where there are real ones to show, and card payments go live alongside our payment provider.

What stays constant as we grow is the model: verified teachers, curriculum-aware matching, published prices, and a clear account of every lesson both sides can see. It was designed to hold anywhere the same need exists, which is very nearly everywhere.
