Terms of Service

What you can expect from Coursity, and what we expect from you.

Plain-language draft. This describes how the product actually works today, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not a substitute for reviewed terms before launch.

Who can use Coursity

Coursity is for students, their parents or guardians, and teachers. Students below the configured consent age need a parent or guardian to acknowledge the account during signup.

One person, one account. Teachers may not list under someone else's name or qualifications.

Coursity is a marketplace

Teachers are independent. They set their own rates, availability and teaching approach. Coursity verifies who they are and what they are qualified to teach, provides the classroom and handles payment — it does not employ them and does not direct how a lesson is taught.

A dispute about the content of a lesson is between you and the teacher, though support will help where we can.

Bookings and cancellation

Buying a lesson or package gives you credits with that teacher. Scheduling a specific lesson draws down a credit.

Cancelling within the window shown at checkout returns the credit in full. Cancelling later may consume it, because the teacher held the slot. If a teacher cancels, your credit is always returned.

Payment

Prices are shown before you pay and include Coursity's commission. You are charged at checkout, not per lesson.

Payments are currently processed on a test rail while the live provider is connected. When that changes, the payment page will say so and nothing about the price you see will change.

Conduct

  • Do not arrange to take lessons off-platform to avoid commission — it removes every protection either side has.
  • Do not share account access.
  • Do not upload material to the Study Hub that you do not have the right to use.
  • Harassment of a teacher or a student ends the account.

The AI Study Hub

Generated summaries, key points and exams are study aids produced from material you supply. They can be wrong. Do not treat them as authoritative, and do not submit them as your own work where that is not allowed.

We meter usage per generation and show you what remains before you spend it.

Ending an account

You can stop using Coursity at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will say why. Outstanding credits and payouts are settled either way.
